This is just a little piece of internet dedicated to my nerdiness and love for art history and visual culture. I certainly don’t know everything, but it’s fun for me to learn more and share what I do know…and hopefully get some feedback from other visual culture enthusiasts or curious readers.
After graduating from Santa Clara University with a B.A. in Art History and Communication, I moved to Chicago as a wide-eyed recent grad to pursue a career in the non-profit art world. Through various positions at museums, galleries, and arts non-profits–some glamorous, some quite the opposite–I find myself nestled into what is more or less my dream job in Development at the Art Institute of Chicago.
Quick “duh” note: Any opinions expressed through this little blog are fully my own, and do not represent thoughts or opinions of the AIC.
I decided to try to learn more about visual arts this summer and came across your blog. I’m really enjoying your posts. Very accessible, informative, entertaining, and meaningful. I just finished up an undergraduate degree in music performance…so I can relate a bit to your concerns about selling out, grad school, etc. Send me an email if you get a chance!
